Association Fee Increase

Our Condo Association fees are increasing!  On Monday, October 22nd, 2018, the McNaughten Village Board of Directors voted to increase our association fees.  As of January 1st, 2019, association fees will be:
  • $161.00 for a small unit (up from $156.00)
  • $177.00 for a large unit (up from $172.00)
This increase was deemed necessary to meet future capital improvement expenses.  Please note the following, as quoted from Community Policies, Guidelines, Rules and Regulations in the document The McNaughten Village Condominium Association Community Policies and Guidelines as of 5/23/2018 on Page 16 in section I. Rules Applying to the Payment of Condominium Fees:

All payments are due on the 1st of each month, but if the total amount due in any month is not paid by the 10th of the month, a late fee of $50.00 may be added to the amount due. At McNaughten Village, late fees are cumulative, which means that for each month, if any monthly payment remains unpaid, an additional late charge of $50.00 may be assessed.
Please address any comments or questions to the board of directors via email.

Misty Way Being Resurfaced

All occupants of McNaughten Village should have received one of these flyers.  It would have been taped to your front door.

Work begins at 9:00 AM and will be finished as soon as possible.  The sealant takes 24 hours to dry.

Please do not block the street while the folks at Perry's Pavement Plus are trying to seal it, and do not drive on the street while the sealer is wet.

Mystery!

This morning (10/8/2018) Sandy Matthews found this sign sitting on her front porch. The sign was in a Hobby Lobby bag, but had no card or name attached to it.

Sandy and Her New Sign
Sandy thinks it may have been left by mistake, and if so she'd like the owner to come and collect it.  I opined that it was a gift from a friend who wants to remain anonymous.

If anyone knows anything about this little mystery, please don't hesitate to speak up.

Crime Report: October 7, 2018

I read this report on a reliable source.  The incident happened in the vicinity of Lucks Road and Roselawn Avenue, which isn't all that far from us.  The reason I'm reporting it here is the audacity of the criminal - he's completely unafraid of the crime victim - and the location.

I just want to share with everyone that last night around 4:00 am I woke up to use the bathroom and heard a thud on my front door. I walked to the living room and heard someone turning my doorknob. I went to my front window to look outside and this person came right over to the window, came eye to eye with me, smiled at me and ran off! It was unnerving and scared the **it out of me!

It was dark and my porch light wasn’t on so I only saw his face briefly but he was a darker skinned male and looked to be in his late 20’s. Don’t know if anyone else was with him. I did call the Reynoldsburg Police and they drove around the neighborhood but didn’t see anyone.

I  keep thinking that thank God I just happened to wake up and heard that noise or who knows what may have happened if he did break into my home. I’m not trying to be a dramatic victim, but I now definitely have fear and paranoia that I didn’t have before :-(

You can read the original here, but you'll have to create an account.
