I rode out for a short tour of the neighborhood today, and I'm impressed with the flowers. Here are some lilies at the our entrance, making things look a little nicer.

News: Trimming the Hedge
Our bushes and trees have needed trimming for a while, and today was the big day for bush trimming. Here are a few pictures of the arboricultural engineers at work.
To everyone out in our community who remembers doing a hard day's work when you were 16 or so, well... this isn't it. But we did get our bushes trimmed, which is the important part. Some of the trimmings were collected and hauled away, while others (like mine) were swept under the nearest bush.
The crew started early this morning (they woke me up) and managed to finish before quittin' time.

News: Shooting at The Hub Bar
From NBC 4i WCMH: East Columbus Shooting Leaves One Person in the Hospital
A person was shot in the leg late Tuesday night, around 11:30 PM, at The Hub Bar. There were multiple witnesses, but the police have no suspects.
Well, imagine that!
The Hub Bar is just across the street, so anyone deciding to walk over for happy hour might want to reconsider their plans. I've never been to The Hub, but I was thinking about going. Now - not so much.
Several people heard shots fired near our complex on May 18th at the usual time for such things - 2:00 AM. When I called police later that morning to report it, I was politely told to stop bothering them. Evidently whoever is doing the shooting, his aim is improving.
