The tree company was here today to excise a tree that's been on its last legs (roots?) for a while now.  I'm guessing the tree lost a few roots the last time the drainage system had a rotor-rooter used on it.

I think this is a Minerva Hibiscus (Hibiscus syriacus ‘Minerva’), commonly called the bush behind the shed.  It adds a lot of color and pleasant ambiance to the neighborhood, even when it's not in full bloom.

I have no idea what the HOA is planning to plant to replace the tree they just removed, but I'd like to see a Hibiscus growing there.

RIP Katherine Yank

We deeply regret the passing of our neighbor, Katherine Yank (1812 Misty Way), who went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 18^th, 2018 around 11:00 AM EST.  Katherine was a wonderful neighbor and a truly kindhearted lady with a sparkling personality.  She'll be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be Monday, July 23^rd, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Franklin United Brethren Church (7171 Central College Rd, New Albany, OH; (614) 855-1391).  Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM.

Burial will be at the Maplewood Cemetery (4585 Reynoldsburg New Albany Road, New Albany, OH).
