Yard Maintenance

The tree company was here today to excise a tree that's been on its last legs (roots?) for a while now.  I'm guessing the tree lost a few roots the last time the drainage system had a rotor-rooter used on it.

I think this is a Minerva Hibiscus (Hibiscus syriacus ‘Minerva’), commonly called the bush behind the shed.  It adds a lot of color and pleasant ambiance to the neighborhood, even when it's not in full bloom.

I have no idea what the HOA is planning to plant to replace the tree they just removed, but I'd like to see a Hibiscus growing there.
