News: Latest Scam

The latest scam, if you believe the police department, is the old 'paint your house number on the curb' scam.  You'll find a flyer similar to the one in the picture on your door, follow the directions, and... nothing.

Flyer
Either the painter is using invisible paint, or (maybe more likely) the money is being collected but no work is being done.

McNaughten Village has a 'No Solicitors' sign at the entrance, and a zero tolerance policy prohibiting solicitation of any kind.  Should someone come to your door selling magazine subscriptions, at-risk youth candy, or government surplus number 2 pencils - don't open the door, don't invite them in, don't give them the time of day.  Close and lock your door, then call the police.

While there are legitimate services that will cheerfully paint you house number on the curb, if you see anyone in McNaughten Village painting numbers on the curbs, it will be because your condo association hired them to do so.

Have a nice day!
