With all the liquid sunshine we've enjoyed the past few weeks, the sump pumps in some units are working overtime. Rain water is dumped into the storm drain, but in our case it seems to be collecting along Misty Way.
Let's take a trip
up the creek, complete with landmarks and commentary.

The Source of the Nile |
One source, anyway. This is not an accidental break in the curb. It's actually the exit pipe from someone's sump pump. We have one such exit per unit, but naturally not all are active.

Dry Spot |
I'm told that a civil engineer can explain in great detail why the water isn't following the drainage trough into the storm drain, as it's supposed to do. My thought is that water doesn't run uphill, and there are several high spots along the road.

The Terminus of the Nile |
This is the storm water drain, which is looking a bit rough these days. The leaves and debris covering it were removed by Z, who lives in the end unit. Our thanks to Z!
There are also a few collection spots closer to the entrance of McNaughten Village, but clearing away leaf piles and lawn debris will doubtlessly fix this problem. Here at the end, we're either going to have to do some road work or wait for the water to evaporate. I'm thinking that evaporation might be a bit more cost effective.
