On Tuesday, June 19th, the local cable TV company consulted their official map of the area, noted the presence and location of a gas line, and starting up their drill. They were intent on laying some new cable, and wanted to miss the gas line.
They discovered that the map was incorrect insofar as the location of the gas line was, and a short time later the gas company showed up to deal with the broken line. A temporary No Smoking ordinance was informally introduced, and the gas company got to work.
When the gas company finally got finished, the cable company started up again and tried to fix the mess. I'd say they failed, but that's just my observation. See for yourself.
